Dr. Liora Schneider
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Therapy can set you on a path to an enriched, happier life. But therapy can be an unnerving prospect. It’s the act of sharing our pain and our fears, our greatest wishes and darkest thoughts. The goal? Greater inner peace and fulfillment.
I welcome the chance to help you find that happiness and fulfillment. Let’s begin with a free 15-minute phone conversation to see how we can work together. (click here)
About Me
Individual, Couple and Group Psychotherapy
I’m Liora Schneider, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples and groups. My passion is helping people put their life experiences in context and providing the emotional support they need to become stronger and able to create a more meaningful life.
I was born and raised in Mexico City where I received a bachelor’s degree with honors and a master’s degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in addictions. I practiced in Mexico for many years before moving to the Philadelphia area. Doy terapia en perfecto español.
Once in the United States I continued my education, earning my doctorate in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College. I also received two certifications: Mind Body Medicine and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
Outside of the office, I enjoy dragon boat and outrigger canoe racing, swimming, running, meditation and reading.

What type of clients do you typically see? What areas or common issues do you specialize in?I work with adults 18 and older who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and adjustment. I also often work with people who grew up within a chaotic family dynamic—perhaps children who were neglected due to parents’ addiction, chronic illness or mental illness. Our work focuses on healing childhood wounds and growing into a free and contented life as an adult.
-
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?I offer a free 15-minute phone call to talk about your concerns and goals and see if we are a good fit. Therapy is an ongoing relationship that will grow with time. It is important to feel safe and to know that you can trust me with your deepest concerns.
-
What is your availability for appointments, and how often do you recommend sessions?I work remotely and in person. I recommend individual and couples therapy once a week and group therapy every other week.
-
How does psychology compare to psychiatry?A psychiatrist is an MD that offers therapy and can prescribe medications. As a psychologist, I focus on psychotherapy without prescribing medicine. But I work in collaboration with psychiatrists when medication is needed.
-
What should I expect from my session?Mine is a collaborative approach. You are the expert in your life, but I will shed light on the issues that I believe are meaningful thereby bringing awareness and liberating you to make positive change. Our therapy will evolve from addressing daily events to delving into deeper feelings. This will give you a different perspective on your life and your relationships with yourself and with others.
